VIDEO RECORDING

I can record the service with high quality audio and video and deliver the finished product back to you ASAP. I can provide options to help you share the video online if needed.

LIVE STREAMING

I can help you live stream the service to Facebook, YouTube, and Zoom. I can also help with streaming to many other platforms, just ask.
Live streaming requires an internet connection to be present at the site of the funeral service. I can contact the funeral service location to find out if one is present.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a 1 hour video recording cost?
My minimum fee is listed here: http://www.videobynic.com/pricing/ This minimum fee covers my costs to record shorter events including travel, time to setup before and teardown after the event, and any post-production work needed to deliver the final product.

What is your hourly rate for video recording services?
My hourly rate can be found here: http://www.videobynic.com/pricing/ This hourly rate is charged after the initial minimum fee if more time is needed to record your event. The fee will be added to your total charge for each additional hour needed to record your event.

How much do videographers usually cost?
According to Thumbtack.com, the average cost for a videographer to record an event is between $750 to $1000 dollars. My pricing information can be found here: http://www.videobynic.com/pricing/

Do you offer live streaming services?
Yes, I can live stream your event to many different platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and others! Live streaming requires the event location to have broadband internet available for me to connect to. Just send me an email (videobynic@gmail.com), tell me the details of your event and I’ll get back to you with how I can help.

What equipment do you use?
I made a blog post outlining my equipment that can be viewed here: http://www.videobynic.com/blog/2022/1/10/what-equipment-do-i-use. I try to update it when new equipment is purchased.

New Flyers

I designed some flyers to hang up to help create some awareness of my services. My plan is to visit colleges in the area first and put them up there, and then directly approach other locations and use this an informational flyer. I used Apple Pages to design them and had them printed by VistaPrint.com.

What equipment do I use?

I get lots of questions about what equipment I have available to record the varied types of events I cover. Well here is a quick listing of the exact equipment I use!

Video Camera

The Canon XA40 is a good choice for recording all day events.

Canon XA40
B&H Photovideo

I choose to use a camcorder over a DSLR because of a few reasons. First, the camcorder is made to record video all day long without overheating. Second, it records in one continuous clip for hours instead of breaking it in to a new clip every 30 or 60 minutes. Third, it has two SDCard slots that I can record to separately, or to both at the same time for redundancy. And lastly, the inputs and outputs make the work I typically do easier; it has two XLR inputs, a headphone jack for monitoring audio, a 3.5mm audio input for additional audio feeds, and a mini-HDMI output for livestreaming.

I use this camera with a Rode NTG1 shotgun mic (B&H Photovideo) and a Manfrotto tripod and head.

Wireless Audio Equipment

Sony UWP-D26 Camera-Mount Wireless Combo Microphone System
B&H Photovideo

Sony URX Wireless Lav System (2)
Discontinued

Rode Reporter Handheld Mic
B&H Photovideo

These wireless systems handle the majority of the audio work. They are great because I can not only use them to place a lav mic on a person, but I can also plug the transmitter into an existing PA system to get an audio feed directly from it to my camera for recording.

Sound Devices 702 Stereo Recorder

I purchased this audio setup when I got serious about recording recitals at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University in 2011. This setup continues to serve me very well for capturing high quality audio of acoustic performances of all types. Sound Devices continues to be the industry standard for the best portable audio recorder.

Live Streaming Equipment

I recently acquired the ATEM mini and it will give me the ability to do several different tasks for events including, using multiple cameras on a single live stream, recording computer and PowerPoint presentations, and the ability to live stream without using my computer.
